Liverpool and are tracking Colombian teenager John Duran, who has been attracting a lot of attention for his performances for Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer.

The 18-year-old forward moved to MLS from Colombian side Envigado, becoming the youngest international player signing in MLS history, and only made his debut for Chicago Fire in February this year, but has quickly established himself as a hot prospect.

He has scored eight goals in 26 appearances in MLS, while he has also earned his first international caps for Colombia, coming off the bench in friendlies against Guatemala and Mexico in September.

reports that both Liverpool and Chelsea are aware of Duran’s talents and are considering a move, while he has also attracted the attention of clubs in Spain and Germany.

The asking price is reported to be around £10m plus add-ons, so there will be plenty of teams ready to take that relatively small gamble on the exciting teenager and he will not be short of options when it comes to his next club.

Duran started up front for Chicago Fire on Saturday at Cincinnati and scored twice in a dramatic 3-2 win for his side.

That takes his tally to five goals in his last four MLS appearances after also netting a brace in a 3-1 win over Phil Neville’s Inter Miami last month.

He was something of a phenomenon in his home country, becoming the second-youngest goal scorer in the history of the Colombian first division when he scored for Envigado at just 15 years and 263 days in 2019.
