Providing an update on the defender, told a press conference on Friday: ‘He’s as okay as can be when you’ve had that concussion.
‘He won’t be ready for the weekend as we have to go through the protocols, but he’s doing well.’
Kante meanwhile is still to play under the Blues manager having suffered an injury in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge back in August.
The France international, who is reportedly close to signing a new contract with the club with his current deal up in the summer, returned to training this week but is still not ready for first-team action.

Pulisic is also still working his way back to fitness having been sidelined for two months with a knee injury.
‘We’ve had a good weeks training. Everybody is available apart from N’Golo and Christian Pulisic, who are making progress and joining the warm-up. They’ll be more integrated next week.’
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang meanwhile rejected a move to Los Angeles FC this month and has slipped further down the Chelsea pecking order with 20-year-old David Datro Fofana preferred against Saints last weekend.
Aubameyang was not even in the squad that afternoon but Potter insists he remains part of his thinking.
‘He’s had a really good training week. He’s available for selection.’
