Chelsea consider loan return option as Everton demand £55m for Anthony Gordon

are considering the option of loaning Anthony Gordon back to as part of their bid for the midfielder, according to reports.

Chelsea have already completed deals for two wingers this month as and have arrived for just under £120 million.

But Chelsea are still looking to add depth to Graham Potter’s attack and the club are weighing up a move for Gordon after missing out on the 21-year-old in the summer.

According to , Everton are demanding a £55 million fee for Gordon with both Chelsea and Newcastle United holding ‘preliminary talks’ this week.

But the report claims that Chelsea are deciding to allow Gordon to remain at Goodison Park for the rest of the season to help Everton’s battle to stay in the Premier League.

Newcastle, however, are not willing to let Gordon stay at Everton and are offering less than half of Everton’s £55m valuation as an initial payment for the winger.

Gordon, who was left on the bench for Frank Lampard’s final game in charge last Saturday, has three goals and no assists in 16 Premier League appearances this season.

The winger still has over two years remaining on his current contract but Everton may need to sell in order to improve their financial position.

Chelsea and Arsenal have also shown an interest in Everton’s central midfielder Amadou Onana, however, the club are desperate to keep the 21-year-old until the end of the season.

Everton are currently searching for a new manager after sacking Lampard in the wake of the team’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday.
