Al-Nassr play down £432m Cristiano Ronaldo contract offer reports

The 37-year-old is searching for a new club after his contract with was terminated last month in the wake of his interview with .

Ronaldo took aim at Erik ten Hag, while he also accused United’s hierarchy of failing to modernise the club since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.

United moved quickly to end Ronaldo’s contract, which still had seven months left to run and was worth in excess of £500,000 a week.

But the Saudi Arabian club have now moved to deny those claims.

When asked about a move for Ronaldo, Al-Nassr’s president Musalli Al-Muammar jokingly replied: ‘Who is Ronaldo? I don’t know him.’

In a subsequent interview with SSC Sports, Al-Muammar said: ‘Ronaldo is busy with the and I don’t think that he is in negotiations with anyone.’

Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s former United teammate Gary Neville says he hopes the 37-year-old stays in the Premier League, despite the manner of his departure from Old Trafford.

‘How does he see the end of his career playing out? Does he see the end of his career playing out in lesser leagues or does he see his career playing out in one of the major leagues and continuing at that level?’ Neville told Sky Sports.

‘I hope it’s the latter and he can find a club in a major league, even the Premier League – I would love him to stay in the Premier League at a club that can have him up front and we can watch him every week.

‘That’s what we want to see, we want to see him playing.’
